Having never been to Destin West RV Resort we were very excited about our upcoming stay. 3 days before check in my mother-in-law suffered a major stroke and was hospitalized. Since then my wife and I have been with her around the clock due to the stroke damage and making arrangements for her adjusted life. Needless to say we had to cancel our reservation on short notice. I contacted management asking about possible options for my $333.00 deposit hoping there could at least be a partial refund or even a voucher to be used in the future. Lady in management was very cold and dismissive to our situation. Their policy states a voucher may be issued in an emergency. Since she refused to explain Im left to guess it has to be their emergency not ours. This is especially sad since one of the management members had bragged to me about having 6 people on a waiting list to fill the spot. So I'm sure they filled the spot and kept our $333.00 deposit. After looking at some of the other reviews it appears the place is great except for the noise and if you have to in any way deal with management. We will never stay at this resort. I have to believe there are just as nice or better places to stay in the area who choose not to treat people like this. My warning to you before you book is to read all the reviews and know the $ is #1 with these folks.

On the bay side but with rights to the hotel beach on the gulf side. Nice bar next door (Ricks) with live music. Sites are paved with a nice patio area and they pick up your garbage bags from the front of your site!

Location, location, location! We made our first motorhome trip and are still currently staying here at this moment. One of the great benefits of this place is how close it is to the beach. It's also extremely well kept and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I don't know a ton about motorhome Parks or RV parks but I would say I can't believe they would be much nicer than this although I almost gave it four stars because the prices up there but you get what you pay for because you don't even need a vehicle to get to the beach and you get to use the island Resorts Hotel across the street and the all of their amenities like they're two pools and they're hot tub and there beachfront property.

We had a wonderful experience at this RV park. The place was very well maintained. The maintenance guy was constantly working on things whether it was picking up the garbage bags the guests leave out for the valet service or fixing things. We have zero complaints. Will definitely be back.
