Shang Hai II

Myself and a friend went in for a quick bite. The prices seemed nice, and the location is what’s to be expected for a small Chinese Food place. The woman working the front could use some customer service classes, though. It felt rushed to order, no “thank-you” or “hello”... it was a very point-blank experience. The food was okay. It would’ve gathered another star if I the grease or oil they use wasn’t old. I had chicken fried rice, which tasted very strongly of shrimp. If you’re frying them in the same area, it should be listed, as people with food allergies pertaining to shellfish could be in for quite the ride. It didn’t make me sick but it didn’t sit well in my stomach. Their honey chicken was good. It is essentially just sweet and sour chicken with honey poured over the top. Better customer service, and sooner oil swaps would go a long way.

My girlfriend and I ordered delivery from here yesterday.nOrange beef and four seasons ..nIn short...nIt was TERRIBLE!!!!nRICE WAS OLD AND DRY AND THE BEEF WAS A HUGE CLUMP THAT WAS MOSTLY FLOUR THE BROCCOLI WAS RAW!!!nLike salad...nThe egg rolls were terribly over cooked!!!nMushy!!!nwe won't be ordering from here again!

I feel like many of these reviews are about some parallel universe version of this restaurant because they don't match my experiences at all.nnShanghai II has been my go-to for Chinese delivery for a little more than 5 years. The food has never been bad, not one time, and delivery has always been fast and friendly.nnTypically, I order combination plates -- kung pao chicken, garlic beef, and General Tso's most commonly over the years -- or the shrimp lo mein. I literally just finished off a container of lo mein. The shrimp was fresh and if I had to guess, there were at least a dozen in my order.nnThe little donuts also are a favorite, and also always good.nnYes, the lady who answers the phone is a little brusque. But I can't recall her ever being rude to me, even when I've had to ask her to repeat something (I'm a little hard of hearing).nnDelivery is usually pretty quick. The time before last, the driver was here in less than 15 minutes. He even called before he got here, just so I wouldn't be startled by him arriving before he was expected.nnMy most recent delivery was through GrubHub and that was a mistake. The dishes were all $2-$3 more than they are when ordering directly from the restaurant. It also took about twice as long as usual.nnI have no idea why so many people are reporting problems with Shanghai. It just doesn't sound like the same place I've been ordering from since 2016.nnEdited to add: Realized that it seems sketchy that I only have two ratings, but I'm just not a big review leaver. I did one for the vet I used to use, and thought I did one for my bug guy, but don't see it. Anyway, only left this one because I was struck by the difference in some reviewers' experiences and mine.

Ordered and had it delivered. Was missing an item, so I called. I was told it was not their problem that I had to deal with DoorDash. When I ask why when they did not put the food in the bag, I was told it was not on them. They would not fix it. So they just lost a weekly customer!

Quick, clean, casual, counter service Chinese and Asian food. Variety of deals. Great food.
