Volunteers were personable and informative. We were unable to take the 90 minute 1000 Island boat tour because it was already filled up. However the volunteer directed us to the Cypress walking tour a few miles up the road which was an easy 1 mile boardwalk nature trail with interesting birds, vegetation and alligators. There was another volunteer at the end of the walking trail that was quite knowledgeable and informative on many aspects of the wildlife, habitat, trees and history of the area.

The visitor center staff member (Alex Rivera... or maybe it was Alberto) was excellent! He explained the historical Everglades habitat, how the water had been diverted, the history of the Calusa tribe, the harmony of Alligators and Crocodiles in the everglades and more. One of the best ranger explanations I’ve had in a national park!

Great hour and a half boat ride around 10,000 islands estuary. Captain and tour guide was terrific. Very knowledgeable and worked pontoon boat so pod of dolphins breached in the boats wake for over 10 minutes...made whole trip worthwhile. Take this boat ride and have fun.

I went out here to relax and enjoy nature. I didn't take the island cruise because I have been on it 3 times. I just love to sit, read and reflect. If you haven't been there, go and check it out.

Great place to launch boats from and get a lot of information about the national park. You can rent kayaks/canoes, possibly other equipment but that's what I saw (I had my own kayak, perfect place to launch).nnDo not forget anything though .. I washed off my kayak spray skirt. hung it on the fence by the hose and left it there. I came back the next day and inquired at the lost and found but no one turned it in.
