We had great time kayaking with the Everglades Adventures Kayak tours. We requested in advance and were able to secure a private tour for just the six of our group.nnIn all the kayak tours I have had (which is plenty) this was one of the most memorable one. The tour guide was excellent and we were lucky to see lots of wildlife. We took the morning tour but also heard the afternoon (sunset) tour was excellent as well. Thus, next time we return to Everglades area we are surely doing the tour.nnFive star kayak tour! Highly recommend
Wonderful and insightful tour. Went through mangrove tunnels with the challenge to traverse them without a paddle- only pulling yourself through with your hands and the branches. Went from kayaking, to canoeing, to pulling ourselves along with our hands. We saw around 7 smaller gators sunning themselves, quite a few different birds, and even an otter following another group of kayaks. We never saw any snakes and very little spiders. The plants were beautiful and the air-plants were quite a sight. We met our tour guide at the company's area, they drove us to the kayak launch zone where we helped get the kayaks off the racks and into the water. There are nice bathrooms by the company's area and then a slightly better than porta-potty option at the kayak launch zone. We were provided with a bottle of water and a granola bar.
The guide was very knowlegable. The kayaking was challenging for beginners because the water level was so low, but it was magical paddling through mangrove tunnels along the Turner river. We saw alligators and birds and so many epiphytes! We took the evening ride and it was lovely.
We were late to our reservation and Dillon went above and beyond to ensure we still got on the water that day! He completely saved the day!
We participated in the afternoon kayaking tour through the mangroves. We saw several alligators of varying sizes, turtles, several different species of bird, and even a river otter. It was a small group, only 5 of us. That is the perfect size. However, they will go up to as many as eleven I think. Which is a big group but still probably very manageable. It just might be hard to hear the tour guide.nnOur tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. The only down side was he hadn’t lived in the area long, so while he was knowledgeable it was limited.nnWe had a great time and I would highly recommend it. It was the least touristy tour we found, if that is what you are looking for.
