Stay Away form this company, you will chase them to get your engine done, Mine blew up after 10 minutes and they wont even respond back. I had to file a BBB case, worst customer service. Save your money and spend it somewhere else, they have '0' customer service and they will not call you back or honor any warranty. I had to keep calling from different phone numbers in order to get a hold of Raul.
Was mislead, promised and then no return phone calls. His lies cost me time and money. Claims to do over 1000 engines a year. That's more than 3 a day for 7 days a week 365 days a year. I don't think so.
I bought an engine from them in September of 2017. Last month it had two cylinders fail. This engine had 370-380 hours on it. So not bad for a $1700 Miami engine in my book. However, when I removed it from the boat I noticed every since freeze plug had been leaking in the bell housing (automotive freeze plugs). Engine was a reverse rotation engine yet they had a standard rotation rear main seal in it(which leaked from day 1). Lastly, the pistons were never turned for it being a reverse rotation engine. Like I said for the money I’m ok with it only lasting this long but not using the correct parts for the engine your building is a problem.
My Rapido engine had oil pressure issues after the ten hour break in. The cost make a crate and ship it back to Florida cost half as much as I paid for the engine, so the warranty is useless.nnMy mechanic opened up the motor and discovered that all the main bearings were wiped out from debris inside the engine. Basically Rapido did not properly clean engine before assembly and it wiped out the bearings on start up. You can actually see the grit embedded in the bearings.nAlso I found out they sold me an engine that was bored out 0.060”, which should never been sold as a marine engine.
Update to my last review. Was given a certain price for shipping then when it did finally ship out a week later than I was told originally I was charged more for shipping. I called Raul and he kinda had an attitude about it but said he would look into it and call me back. Never did I called several times and left messages but no one called back. They are just after a sale I guess don’t care about customer service. I’d be Leary if they even honored the warranty.
