This is a nice beach. The changing areas were fine and they even have showers with Gojo soap dispensers in them if you really want to clean off. The swimming area was not very big when we went because they didn't have enough lifeguards to keep the whole thing open.nnI knocked off a star because the lemonade at the snack bar was pretty terrible. I got it because I was told that it's actually made by someone and not just from the Coke fountain. The Minute Maid concentrate from the fountain would have been better. This tasted very watered-down.nnSo, in short, go, swim, boat, enjoy the beach, and avoid the lemonade.

Smith Mountain lies picturesque, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountain range. Reminiscent of the famous Lake Lure, Smith Mountain Lake provides people with a wide variety of activities. From a public access beach, beautiful community park, and even the gorgeous surrounding area, Smith Mountain Lake is a very inclusive area for everyone. My brother was actually married here! With the advent of AirBnB, there are more opportunities than ever before to experience this area in your own way. The surrounding area is full of friendly residents and many opportunities for visitors to experience the the local culture. From small roadside produce stands, to galleries showcasing local artists, whatever you're looking for you'll have no problem finding it in this area. Smith Mountain lake also provides a quiet retreat from the bustle of every day life, while also being right down the road from Lynchburg.

First time here. I like it. The beach is clean. The water is wonderful and the beach is bigger than I thought I’d be. Lifeguards on duty which is nice and a little place you can rent kayaks. $7 to get in the park and then on weekends $4 a person. Weekdays are $3 a person. Not too bad. Highly recommend!

Beach is great except 1-they allow smoking on the *entire* beach and 2-womens restroom stalls are tiny!! The swimming is great though, they really have a nice setup for it. Sat and Sun the whole place is typically full by Noon or earlier.

Beach itself is pretty and the water is nice. But they had side swim areas closed so everyone was crowded into one area...not a good idea during a pandemicud83dude23nBut the facilities would not even get a single star. Women's room had a young lady letting her son urinate at the entry door and there was feces on the floor in one stall. The one toilet I saw before running out, was filthy.nUnfortunately, people are filthy.ud83dude14
