Gorgeous! The sign at the start is a little confusing; you can drive a little past it and park (there is no parking before it).nWe went about 3/4 of a mile in and there were *multiple stream crossings. They are doable without taking off shoes but you have to be fairly sure-footed and agile. Pics don't do it justice, lovely walk.

It's a nice little trail, that can go up to Indian Rocks on the Blueridge Parkway (3 miles) or out to Route 60 (4 miles), or up to Elephant Mountain (3miles). The elephant mountain trail is unmaintained and overgrown but a bit of an adventure. There is a spot about 2 miles up to Indian Rocks marked by some rocks and a small trail where there is a decent view. Lots of stream crossings, good elevation change so you can see different types of forest structure. The reservoir is about .75 miles in and is filled with frogs and salamanders but also covered in poison ivy. The trail is a bit rocky at spots, and is only lightly trafficked, although it's starting to be a more popular spot among students.

Not a bad trail, but it's poorly marked. Not much to see in the winter, but I'd definitely go there any other season.

Beautiful trail in fall. Easy hike.
