Oh how I feel about this place! Only good things come to my mind when I choose to shop at this location! The prices are very low and reasonable, very good selection of items/clothes. Employees are so helpful, kind, generous, OUTSTANDING, and most of all a joy to be around! I love this place so much. I hope to visit soon again.
When there is more product in the back then on the shelves it's disappointing. Its disappointing to see such a disorganized stockroom, I encourage you to keep the stockroom doors shut, to see how donated items of loved ones are treated is discouraging to donate. The pricing on homegoods were up and down the chart and did not reflect donated items in many cases.
Some really great deals here. Always clean, and a friendly staff.
Oh how I wish I could give 5 stars! As I used to feel that way about the Farmville location. I have been supporting this store for 14 years. They used to have the best selection, clean atmosphere and the employees were lovely. As of late, the last year or so, I’ve been noticing some very sad interactions. Interactions between employees and those between customers and employees. None that have left me with a good feeling.nFirstly, I try to lead with the positive. However I find myself quite winded when trying to think of a positive feeling right now. As I’ve been rattled since two Saturdays ago. I guess this little old lady has just had enough! I have witnessed women coming in that store, as I’ve been shopping, with a bag full of clothes for return and given a cash refund. Not a big deal, right? I’ve also witnessed people being refused a refund. This is when it turns into a ‘big deal’ for me. Even if it’s over a dollar.nWhat happened was I witnessed a man, who had completed his purchase, stepped outside and start to put his vase away in his backpack. I noticed he looked a bit upset, like it was broken. Or something wasn’t right. So he came back inside and asked the lady for a refund while he showed her the break. Granted he didn’t notice it before, but we’ve all been there. Store lighting can be tricky. She was very rude and refused him a dollar refund. She tried her best to embarrass him. This was the same, exact, lady I have seen several times give cash refunds to different people. All younger, ‘like’ people. Friends, perhaps. I was so taken back by the treatment of this man that I had to excuse myself from my shopping buddies and exit the store.nI believe in supporting the Goodwill. Isn’t the purpose and ‘feeling’ of the Goodwill supposed to be just that? Goodwill towards our fellow Brothers and Sisters. To help those who are able to start fresh? To support our community? To help our environment by purchasing ‘already there’ items? And the thrill of the deal?!nWell, this little Goodwill in Farmville, Va has become far from that. I tend to shop where I feel good about where I spend my money. And I have spent quite a bit of money in 14 years there. I am fed up with the ill treatment of some, and the favorable treatment of others. The snide comments these ladies make about customers are unacceptable. Save it for the break room. The ‘chipped vase’ is the straw that broke the camels back for this old gal. The police got involved over $1 refund! I kid you not. Goodwill is supposed to help with community resources, not waste it.nI guess if you’re a friend of the ladies who work there, you’re golden. But if you’re not...be careful. Spend your hard earned dollar where you feel good spending it. They’ve gotten quite expensive and picked through anyway. The new location in Charlottesville, where ‘Gander Mountain’ used to be on Rt29 is wonderful! Employees are king to EVERYONE. Product is clean and not tattered. You will be treated as a good customer, not as a pain.nThe lady who I’m referring to that works in the Farmville location is ‘Nicky’, I do believe. Dark hair, glasses and an unfair attitude. Just in case corporate is reading this, training is much needed...as well as a hood sweeping.n***And to the gentleman who was treated so unkindly, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry. I apologize on behalf of Goodwill for treating you the way they did. If I see you on the street someday, I’d like to buy you a cup of coffee and ask you who that special vase was for. Signed - A Fed Up Old Gal
