I've lived in the area for over 30 years and have often driven past the Nelson House (canon ball house) Last week it was open and I finally got to go inside. A very knowledgeable young man walked us through the history and the family. The only disappointment was a lack of furniture. It would be nice to see the place looking as it did when Nelson owned it.

A beautiful piece of history. With biking walking hiking and swimming it has something for everyone.

Creepy! Watch at night because the shutters open on their own. Used as a make shift hospital for soldiers and has a long history if being haunted!

Gorgeous historical home of Thomas Nelson. Beautiful sunken garden escape. Learn of the Gentry, Gentry housewife life, his lineage, explore the grounds with family or friends.

General Thomas Nelson - a hero of the Revolutionary War. His house, along with several other nearby buildings and monuments, are preserved for tours and visits. On one side there are still preserved cannonballs embedded in the side from the fighting.
