The Heritage of Norton

I want to start this review by saying I read the other reviews, but this is a little town in VA so I do not expect Resort type treatment. We needed a room close to The Wood Booger for an event on New Years Eve. We live about two hours away and did not want to be out on the road late on night on this particular night. We stayed on the second floor and as mentioned in some of the other reviews the ice machine was broken on that floor. Well big deal there is an elevator and I am surely not a Princess so I rode the elevator down ONE floor and got the ice I needed. I was curious about the pool just per the reviews not because I was actually interested in taking a swim. The pool is indoors and yes it is drained and closed. However if this something to complain about in this small town then you may have bigger issues and need to get out more. I do not know if they had the comp breakfast available on the 5th floor as we prefer to go to restaurants instead of getting a comp breakfast that no matter where you go is the same old same old. So to conclude my review we needed a close safe place to stay and that is what we got the staff was super friendly. The room was not only clean but smelled clean. The rate was a decent price for New Years Eve the only thing I would change is the window drapes need to be able to be completely closed but that was not a huge deal at all. If we ever find ourselves needing a place to stay in the future in Norton VA then we will be glad to stay at The Heritage.
