Lots of history. Nice little walk around since buildings are closed due to covid-19. you can't drive thru like you normally would be able to either

An incredible building and beautiful park around it. There is a lot of history here and too much to embrace in just one visit. The hill gives you an incredible vantage point on the surrounding area and the park is filled with historic monuments to Virginia’s history. The interior is of course the Capitol itself and has so much depth and surprises in this building by Thomas Jefferson’s design

An amazing building and place full of history and history being made. Take a tour and explore were the oldest continuous legislative body sits in session and the awe inspiring architecture of Thomas Jefferson. The tour guides are terrific and take you through the unique history of Virginia and it's legislative body.

Paid a visit to the Capital to see the new Virginian women's monument - Voices From the Garden. Though still in progress, the 7 of 12 planned statues are very expertly crafted and worth the trip to see. Surprisingly diminutive in size, the statues are realistically crafted and pleasantly life size. The memorial lacks information and context at this time. There are no plaques nor hint of who the women are. So it's necessary to Google and learn who the figures are and who's to come. Not really a problem. All the more reason to pause and enjoy.
