Canastas Chicken

Usually juicy and tender rotisserie chicken. It really depends on when you order and pickup. The chicken is always fresh but tends to dry out after it is taken off the spit and put under a warmer. You can call and ask when the next batch is coming off the fire and pick-up soon because this place stays busy at the different eating times. The sides are always fresh as well and the crew is efficient, courteous and friendly.

Best Latin Food in Richmond!!! Coming from South Florida where every restaurant is a Latin restaurant, I really missed Latin food when I moved up here. Chicken is done over coal with great spices. This place is specifically Peruvian, so don't go in there looking for a Cuban Sandwich. If I had to say anything negative, is when I place an order for pick up I almost always have to wait 15 mins on top of what they tell me, but the deliciousness outweighs my impatience.

Thought it was a fried chicken place but it’s Peruvian grilled chicken. Absolutely delicious and huge portions at a great price. 110% recommend. We got a mix of apps and entrees and all was flavorful, fresh, and tasty

UPDATE:n2 years ago I first found this place and was blown away. But over the last year there have been some definite misses. Chicken too dry. Or not seasoned well enough. But yesterday EVERYTHING was salty: the rice, chicken, even the sauce!nnThe business has expanded and with expansion quality tends to suffer.nI hope they really work on maintaining there initial quality

Tonight was my first visit. I stumbled upon Canastas on DoorDash and decided to try based on the strong reviews. I concur, the food was delicious, bigger portion that expected, and the service good, though I had to wait a bit longer than expected. I’ll definitely return. Great value!
