Walnut Flats Campground

This campground is closed but me, my husband and our 2 dogs had a great picnic. We had to walk which isn't far from the gate.nI loved the fireplace, fire burns great!.nI wouldn't suggest coming here but if you feel froggy come take a hike up here and check it out.

Free campsite and great place to be off the grid.

Awesome place to unwind

Very nice campground located about a mile from the Appalachian Trail. Easily accessible for normal vehicles; up a gravel road. Campground may be harder for trailers to reach. The forest road used to access this campground also features a nice waterfall and other trails. Bathrooms we're clean and stocked. Forest Service rangers came and went a few times each day, giving the impression that everything was being looked after, not in a big brother way, but made it feel safer. Water from a hand pump was tasty. We stayed 3 nights.
