Horrible administration with shallow personalities. Poor values. They have an over rated opinion of their school. N. Virginia is full of private schools. Try somewhere else.
I'm very impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of the teachers, and with the school's initiatives that build community and camaraderie throughout the Academy. For example, they have a project pals program where second graders will read to infants and toddlers, which is a win-win for both participants and builds relationships among different ages at the school. My kid is excited to be there every day, and I can focus better at work knowing my child is being well taken care of.
I have two sons who attend Merritt. Both are thriving and happy. Staff will bend over backwards to accommodate families. I've always felt that my children are their number one priority. Merritt is a great fit for my family!
My child is in his first year at Merritt, and he loves playing outside multiple times a day, learning French once a week, creating art in his classroom, going on field trips, and much more. We really love my kid's teachers, and we're very happy to be at Merritt!
