Nice place of solitude in the midst of a busy campus. Crepe Myrtles, Cedars, Magnolias and large old growth Oaks are just a few of the beautiful trees on this property. The grounds are immaculate. Come listen to the wind through the trees while the birds cackle at each other. Come and just relax for a few.

This historical manor was the home of Senator Carter Glass of Lynchburg: a newspaper editor turned politician. Glass worked with Woodrow Wilson to sponsor the Federal Reserve Act in 1913, and his influence secured a Federal Reserve Branch Bank for Richmond, Virginia: the smallest city honored with such an important financial center. Glass retired from the Senate during the Depression and used his influence as an editor to oppose Roosevelt's New Deal on strict Jeffersonian, Southern Democrat grounds. Later, this mansion became the executive offices of Liberty University and included the private offices of Rev. Jerry Falwell. Falwell died in his office in May of 2007 and is buried on the lawn at Montview under a memorial flame.
