It was a nice quaint place to visit. My 3 year old loved it but my 9 year old niece said it was boring. Due to covid they had the doors locked so we had to walk around the whole building. A friendly neighbor helped us out and he knocked on a window until he got somebody's attention at which point they finally opened the main door to let us in. They didn't have too many live animals and the place is actually in the middle of a neighborhood. My 3 year old keeps asking about going to see the animals but I don't think the drive is worth it. We live about an hour away and the exhibits just aren't worth it. I probably won't be visiting again any time soon.
A very educational place to go and it's free. I thought the animals were adorable and the nature guide really knew alot about everything. It's a tiny room but It's great if It's a rainy day or you just want to teach your kids about nature and they are intrigued but have short attention spans. My youngest didn't want to leave!
Brought all the kids here for a visit during our family reunion and it was a big hit! There are not a lot of animals but still plenty to see and do. A really good opportunity for teaching moments between parents and children.
They didn't have the squirrel that they advertise. The possum was cool but other than that and the hedgehog, you can see all these live animals at the local pet store. The volunteers that were in there feeding the animals weren't very friendly, and one young boy that was with them pushed my 2 year old out of the way to get to a turtle my son was trying to look at (which made me mad of course). This is all in one small room which would be too closed-in for more than 6 or 7 people.
Awesome addition by the Parks and Recreation Department!
