Percival's Island Natural Area

Fun place to walk around along the James River. It's a level, paved trail. Benches are placed strategically so one can sit & have a great view of the river. There are some benches close to the river, too. There are bridges over the James so there is traffic noise but the further away you are on from the bridges, the quieter it is.

PIT's a beautiful place to take a long and flat walk or bike ride. It will wear you out, it will wear your friends out and give you both exercise but most importantly, it will wear your child out. :-) in other words if you plan to take a nice calm peaceful walk, don't bring your children. it's okay to bring your children if you do not intend to walk the entire trail and get good exercise.

This trail system is one of my favorite aspects of living in the Lynchburg area. Its a great resource with paved trails, dirt trails and great views, and all nearby.

Unfortunately lost the pics I took at this place. Nice little island in the area. Must visit. It's family friendly. They have electric ud83dudef4 as well for needed people. Have few great restaurants around as well. Well maintained.

Beautiful place. Bridge overlooking the James River and an accessible island for fun and leisure.
