Saint Mary's Wilderness

Super peaceful and beautiful area. The various views of the river and the mountains, as well as the dramatic rock formations, are gorgeous. Cannot wait to come and take a swim in the spring. NOTE: lots of rocky areas on the trail, and there was a lot of muddy spots even though there has not been a lot of rain. A dry hike would be the key!

It was a great adventure. But the trail should be marked better. Especially for hiker novoice. To this trail.

Reasonably difficult, multiple water crossings. I went at night my first time here and that was definitely a mistake, don't do that and don't trust footprints in the snow to keep you on the trail. Otherwise a very doable trail and a nice view.

If you take the gorge trail, watch your step, parts of it can get pretty rough, depending on how far you go. Great views, though. It was a fun hike.

You’ll find access to the trail at the end of the road. Parking is limited. There is a sign with a trail map at the beginning of the trail. The trail itself follows the contour of the river. However to access the waterfalls you have to Cross the creek several times. At times the trail was washed out.
