Shenandoah Acres

This place is GREAT! We are seasonal campers there for the last few years. Have always loved the place.

I've grown up going to SAFC. Back when they had cabins across the road and one duplex that is now a parking lot across from the lake. I went beginning in the 80s-2004. Never missed a year.nnThis is our main family camping trip, typically staying about 10 days. We have taken our children their entire lives, except for the 10 year shut down. My oldest went when she was 8 days old. We returned in 2011.nnWe began as tent campers and bought a camper in the Summer of 2019 just for SAFC!nnThe employees are magnificent. We are so sad that Garland left and a resort took over. The price increased when the resort took over.nnThe facilities on the property are VERY well maintained. To have a laundry mat is incredible. I was our stuff before we leave so I do not have to come home to do it.nnOur children absolutely LOVE going. The lake, fishing, Ball courts and playgrounds. My suggestion to anyone, rent a golf cart if you do not have one.nnIn 2018 in our favorite campsite, my Husband and I got married. (C6) This place holds so many magnificent family memories and their are so many more memories to be made.nnYou have to try SA just once and you will be hooked, especially if you have children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. We visited with extended family and had a cabin and two full hookup sites. The sites are roomy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the lake...much better than a pool. The cabins are a bit dated but have everything you need and was great eating and having a fire on the beach. Good cheap fried food at the beach house. We did some great hikes in the area.. I wish the gift shop was open more often. Since its not attached to the check in building I understand why its not open but I love to browse camp stores and buy souvenirs. This is just what we needed to escape the stress of the last several months!

I prefer a little more quiet. This place is non stop busy right up to curfew. Then it all stops and gets quiet. It appears to be a great place for kids and they have various activities for them. Last night there was karaoke which was very entertaining!!! Overall it is an exciting place and the facilities are clean. I could smell the bleach in the bathroom.
