Putnam Street Bowling Alleys

Great experience. I forgot to get the gentlemen's name, but he took the time out of his schedule to show my son's the right form. Went with my family and we all had a great, competitive time. We will definitely be going back.

The surrounding businesses are very seedy, but once you get inside, it's like you've entered a completely different building. The staff is very friendly, down-to-earth, and knowledgeable; the lanes are very clean and well-kept; and best of all, the experience is much different from that of most other bowling alleys. The balls are small, meant to be held in one hand, and you use three of them at a time (Instead of the usual, two). The scoreboard is not automatic - you manually enter the number of pins you managed to knock down before moving on - but as long as you understand the rules, it's very easy to use, and you can get back to playing faster than you would in a normal bowling alley. If you live in the area, don't pass up the chance to visit just because of the location, or else you'll be missing out on a truly unique experience.
