South Puget Sound Wildlife Area

This is a unique preserved space bordering Lakewood Fish Hatchery. It is mostly an open prairie with a small wetland area. There are some madrone and conifers, but also several oaks and oak plantings. There are several wide trails and a few narrow offshoots, as well as one paved trail. There are no interpretive signs that I could see. The knoll offers a viewpoint of the whole prairie and wetland. All of the trails combined equal roughly 2 miles. It is small and somewhat anticlimactic, but if your in Lakewood its worth a visit.
