Nice stop along the way. If you're looking for a nice little campground close to the Yellowstone River this is a great little place. The further into the campground from the highway the quieter it is. Does not have hookups so bring your generator and a full tank of fresh water for your camper shower and other needs.

So I was traveling on I-90 headed east towns S. Dakota. My wife decided to goggle campgrounds and we found this park listed in Columbus.nIt is an awesome park for our needs.nWe are self contained and enjoy camping off grid. The park is located along the Yellowstone River and has several camp spots with fire rings and picnic tables. Some pull thru and back-in sites.nIt was an awesome park with running water in the rest room at the front campground.nIt is owned by the city and funded by donations but is otherwise a free campground with 1st come 1st serve no reservations needed.

Was able to stay here with my camper twice while on my way to/from Glacier NP. I arrived after dark both nights, and was able to just pull of to the side and park. Probably not an official site, but no one seemed bothered by it. The second night there were 3 other people camped in the same opening when I woke up the next morning. Didn't explore the park any more than that but it was great to be able to pull in after dark, not need to level my camper, and get right to sleep

I live near itch kep pe and its always been one of my favorite places to take my kiddos. And you can camp there just give a little donation if you'd like. They have water spickets, bathrooms and lots of camp sites! And the elderly man who works around there is such a nice guy. We love this place!!

This place was so much fun! We found half a dozen heart shaped rocks and spent an entire day playing in the river like children. It was a bit difficult finding a spot next to the river but you will find trash services, water and even bathrooms. They ask for donations but the cost is free. As long as you clean up after yourself, this is a clean wonderful place to park for a few nights.nnSo much fun!!! Thank you to the city for making this experience possible. We had a blast :)
