Indian Fort Fishing Access

The most totally awesome place...beautiful river

Beautiful site, but there's lots of spotted knapweed spread over much of the fishing access. This noxouis weed can be brought home on clothing and vehicles and spreads quickly. Trains run 4-5 per night.

The site is great but the numerous trains during the night wake you up too often!

Fantastic spot on Yellowstone River. 18 bucks. Light sleepers stay away or bring ear plugs. The BSNF freight rail runs half a mile to the west the other side of the river, and invariably sounds his horn while passing. Thru the night.

Today is the last day of March. Breezy, mid 50s, partly cloudy. There is still some ice lining the river bank limiting access to the bank itself. But you can wind your way through the ice blocks, just watch your footing. The water is getting dirty but has not risen a lot yet but runoff starts soon. The boat launch is still unusable, just gone really.
