Sioux Charley Lake Trailhead

A beautiful and easy hike that follows Stillwater Creek. The path was rocky and had areas of ice in January 2021 but this didn't prevent you from hiking. The views were pretty exceptional and it was nice being able to drive roughly an hour and a half from Billings.

Nice little hike. Beautiful mountains, and Stillwater River was was clear as crystal. I hiked in 8 miles, which is a great one day hike. My wife passed away in August, so I carried her in my heart to see the mountains that my Karen loved. It was a good day.

EP-IC!!!!! The cold frosty air is even more enjoyable. Love this spot no matter the time of year.

Not quite so good for small children. Beautiful trail. Don't expect a lake. Just a wide spot in the creek really. But well worth the hike.

Easy hike if you follow the gorge trail - gets going uphill about a 1 to 1.5 miles in, but nothing extreme. Lots of water features. Surrounding peaks are impressive. Souix Charley Lake is pretty - not the prettiest lake in Montana as it is just a widening and slowing of the Stillwater at that point.
