Very nice stop. Clean Stackhouse. Beautiful scenery. Can be a bit windy.

There are several interpretive signs relating to Sacagawea, Lewis & Clark, a pit toilet, and sun faded road information relating to navigation to - and over - Lemhi Pass. The pass is 12 miles from here, over a gravel and at times washboard road. The first few miles are wide and well-maintained. The second half is 1 Lane with turnouts. In the summer with no rain (resulting in mud) any vehicle can make it. I did it in my 24' RV and it was fine. I would not pull a trailer. The other side was 24 miles, many muddy sections, I had to back up in my RV to a turn out to let a vehicle pass, hugged the very edge of a ravine to let 2 other vehicles pass, and then played chicken with a dump truck on a muddy turn, me driving in very loose dirt losing traction, him on the precipice of a 500 foot cliff. And that's the 25 mile road RVs and buses are allowed on (184 or 185 depending on the sign). The other road into Idaho (route 013) is not recommended and was pretty much straight down / roller coaster.

Very interesting, part of Lewis and Clark route, lots of history and very nice explanation if the site and its history. Also a very nice remote camping spot

Eh... Good information about the area. Don't stay for more than 2 hrs... It gets boring fast.

Nice! They even stocked the campgrounds with fire wood.
