High Creek Canyon Trailhead

Hiked to the middle fork waterfall. Was about 5 miles round trip, not too steep and partly or mostly shaded for most of the trail. Great hike with kids. Waterfall is beautiful!! And it was cool to see the water coming straight out of the mountain at the top of the falls.nnSaw quite a few wildflowers and tons of butterflies.nnSpent about 4 hours. Probably about 3 hours hiking (with 3 kids under 10), and about an hour playing in the river on the way down the trail.nnLast mile or two is a rough road, so you need at least a bit of clearance (we did it in a Ford Flex). The parking lot was almost full when we arrived around 9:15 am. Also, parking lot has a bathroom.

Loved the hike, not a bad one to the waterfall. The drive up is pretty rough and you'll want something with plenty of clearance.

There so much to see. Great place to go hiking and camping.

Trail has a range of experiences with rivers and forested areas, as well as a large meadow and spacious areas more near the pond/lake at the conclusion of the hike. Long but worthwhile hike for the meadow alone. The meadow has wild flowers of beautiful varieties and arranged in swathes. Very picturesque and definitely a location to hike.
