Deer Cliff Inn Restaurant

We recently had dinner with friends at the Deer Cliff Inn on 9/12/2020. It had been over 20 years since my wife and I had been there. Two of us ordered steaks and two ordered the shrimp and chicken. I ordered my steak medium and the other steak was supposed to be medium rare. Both steaks were well done. The outside seating was full and there was over a thirty minute wait for our meals. Our wives ordered the shrimp and chicken which were good. A little disappointment with the steaks. The big surprise came with the bill. There was a cover charge added for live music which wasn’t posted for $6.00. When we went to pay the bill they would only accept checks or cash. Again this wasn’t posted anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu. We left feeling that it may be a long time before we come back. I feel any restaurant should post the methods of accepted payment at the entrance and on the menus. So buyer beware. The ancient cash register should have been a dead giveaway.

We have never been disappointed at Deer Cliff. And when they have live music it is just that much better. More than worth the drive!!!

This is the place for good food and ambience. Located next to Cub River and at the bottom of Deer Cliff provides a stunning experience. Even though my grandfather built the inn, once you visit, you'll know that my description is not biased in any way. There really aren't any words to describe the beautiful setting. Order the chicken dinner, you won't be disappointed!

Great food and great atmosphere. They were very careful to avoid coronavirus spread. And the music was impeccable. That John Dalley can really sing and play.
