John Martin Reservoir Campground

Pretty decent stop on long journey south. The campground is split between a wooded area and a more open loop. We had an open spot which was fine - had a fire pit and a (bus shelter) shaded table area. Beware a few things. There are goats thorns aplenty so be careful with your pet. Also, a number of ant colonies so again....look after your pets paws. Lastly, there's a crazy amount of insects that will love the inside of your rig if you don't keep the doors/windows battened down. Not as terrible as I made it sound! The lake is lovely and my wife went paddle boarding and my dogs took a swim.

Good campground. Flat sites. Watch for ants. Electric only here so bring water in your tank!

Campsites are far apart, quiet, bathrooms clean but lights attract MANY little gnats!! Must use quarters in a machiy for a shower. Lake can not be seen from campsites.

Great fishing however we have been twice now and both times very windy all day long. So if you can put up with the wind and find some shade you will love it.

Even in October the weather is great camping spots spread out don't have neighbors right next to you
