I guess I will start with the good. Awesome location, friendly staff, and amazing ambiance.nnNow the rest... I went here last night with my family to have one upscale meal while on spring break. A restaurant doesn’t need to have amazing food, just ensure a good time... UNLESS you charge as much as this place charges. After a meal that I would like to forget, we’re presented with a $365 dollar check.nn$18 for a half bowl of plain pasta with cheese? My twelve year old was still hungry. $38 for a half roasted chicken? $22 each for two cocktails that were mostly ice and didn’t taste good?nnI won’t even talk about the burned up patatas bravas, the dried out grilled red snapper $68 and the scallops.nnHave to say that it was my own fault. I didn’t heed some of the other user reviews. I’d like to think that it’s location is nice enough to at least come back for drinks, but they were so bad that I wouldn’t even do that.

Food was delicious! Wait staff was exceedingly patient and kind in explaining their menu to me and my husband. They have a really cool message in a bottle dessert that has an edible messahege. We had a lovely night celebrating our 10th Dating anniversary. Thanks Serea for making it special! ud83eudd70

This is a very unique review; where in, I have to offer brutal honesty in a sea of bullsh*t I see in their previous reviews. I usually do not like to review places such as Serea because I am so brutally honest with my opinion. I find it important this time to share with the online community; what I call, the eye of the storm. Let’s start from the beginning shall we..nnI am not a fan of the Hotel Del Coronado. It’s a very large property with a very unhappy staff and an underwhelming management team and management structure. I would not recommend staying there. This in itself makes me unhappy, as I am a diamond hilton member who spends half my year in Hilton Brand Hotels. Now the silver lining, the calmness within the eye of this horrible storm, it’s Serea.nnThe view is unbelievable, sinking your eyes and heart back into “Some Like it Hot”. With every view there is a glimpse of the past, the dynasty of this location. The view isn’t what does it for me though, the staff is impeccable. The amount of chaos this staff handles is absolutely beautiful, and they do it stress free. The gorgeously smart manager there, well she treats her team, with respect, with love, while instilling the values necessary to serve in such a bustling environment. I commend her for her job, which I’ve been lucky enough to watch her and her team in action many times.nnWith all that said; I do not think Serea is a place you visit just for the view or simply for the menu. Serea is a place you visit for the experience. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget. If you have a moment for a spritzer at sunset, a nightcap on your walk home, or a beautiful date, perhaps anniversary night out, Serea is definitely an experience to undertake.

Between the beautifully decorated interior, to the romantic outdoor setting (especially during sunset) and the incredible food, Serea is definitely a destination for an incredible meal. With all of the dishes, chef has masterpiece after masterpiece of unique dishes that are presented so perfectly.

I had been wanting to go to Serea for the longest time and every time we planned to go something always came up. Last night we finally went and it was such a wonderful time.nThe staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was very chill and very relaxing after a long day at work.nThe food was absolutely delicious and SO fresh. We got a tuna tartar and it was really good, I did personally feel like it could of used slightly more seasoning but it was still very good and very fresh and it was served with toasted pita which was a nice pairing. We also got the Hawaiian tuna sashimi and OH MY GOD that tuna just melted in your mouth! It was so good I wanted more!nFor the entrées I got a pan seared Tuna (I did feel slightly silly that we got three tuna dishes but whatever they were all super good and I love tuna.) The pan seared tuna was very good and everything tasted so fresh.nMy husband got a chicken dish which surprised me a little since he usually ventures out. But he was very happy with his dish. He said that he could tell it was some premium organic chicken and that it was definitely not store bought chicken.nI highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exquisite dining experience that is not extremely formal. Since the restaurant is in the Hotel Del and facing the beautiful pacific ocean, you can dress down a tad bit.
