History! Not sure if it is tourable, but was closed off when I visited, could be Covid related. But the property is kept up with and looks nice. The building is standing and in good condition (from what I can see from the street)

The Burrell Homestead is the hidden gem of the community and sadly the last of the Burrell's passed away not so long ago. Its claim to fame is that it was a major hub in the Underground Railroad. It's land slopes down to the Black River very close to French Creeks mouth. The slaves were held in the back until they could arrange for a ship on the Black River to take them to Canada. This part of the trip was especially dangerous as slave hunters were always in the area and Indians were still active in the area. When the ship located in the city of Lorain was ready, the slaves would be put in a rowboat and had about 4 miles to row to the ship. The ship would make the perilous trip to Canada where the slaves could quietly live in freedom after their very long trips from the south. When you visit the homestead you can sense the fear in the air, but Christian settlers like the Burrell's and Roots and a host of others would not be stopped in playing their parts in giving these slaves freedom, despite the dangers involved. There is so much to know but the homestead is open to the public about 4 times a year.

The house that Sheffield was built upon, and a very important stop on the Underground Railroad. Not to mention one of the last stops.
