Super friendly folks here. This place takes me back to my childhood- everything from the look and feel, to the smell of the building. Lots of interesting things here as well. We will visit much more often. These fair prices will see to that.

Love this place! Great deli, and a great assortment of other food and beverage items like wine and tea, but the best part in my opinion is their sandwiches and soup! They recently started coming up with their own custom sandwiches and they are amazing!

Sad to give this rating. Came by on a recommendation and was not received warmly. Instead, we were snapped at about wearing masks from and employee not wearing hers appropriately over her entire face while slicing a customer’s deli order. “You need to wear a mask if you’re in the store!” instead of “Welcome in, do you have/can we get you a mask?”. Very rude.nnWithin seconds, another gentleman walked in without a mask and not a word came from the staff. He was warmly greeted/checked out. We decided this was not the place to spend our money even though we love to shop local/small business.nnNot sure what the double standard is about, but if masks are going to be enforced everyone should have to wear them over their entire nose and mouth. We went to big biz Kroger and spent $40 there instead. We will not be back to McKennas.

Best kept secret in Newark, a must for deli meat, cheese, chocolates, old fashioned candies and glass soda bottles... I try to go once a week just for their deli- cheap to reasonable prices and superb selection of meats and cheeses... go support this local gift

Scrumptious foods! Made-to-order subs (huge proportions), fresh salads, variety of unique sodas and beverages. The deli meats offered are delicious, with good prices. They offer many organic food varieties, vintage brand candies Amish hand pies in numerous flavors. Friendly staff who like to chat. Sitting at their sandwich bar, the outside views are of the beautifully updated historical town square. A delightful place to shop, with a historical background and nostalgia all its own!
