I would no longer recommend this place. When I first came here, about November of last year, I would’ve recommended, but not anymore. First things first, the coach. Coach ken consistently preaches about life and everything, which is okay, but it gets to a point where he brings up religion into everything and it ends up taking up so much class time, and I feel like he was just trying to get class to end early so he can go home. He also tries to blame his poor coaching on his own boxers, such was the case of my friend who was about to fight there, and then during sparring ended up getting a stroke because the coach couldn’t tell that they were going to hard and then he blamed my friend for not telling his partner he was going too hard when it was obvious at the time when I was there that they were going way too hard. I even tried telling him he was going too hard but o was told not to interfere. Also, the coach consistently preaches about religion and cheesy life advice, which I don’t have anything against religion, as I’m religious myself, but he does it so much that it interferes with a lot of class time, and the coach then tries to make himself seem like a better person than everyone else, and when he gets called out on it, he then goes at the start on class and rants about how everyone is out to get him and how he doesn’t think this way despite the fact he does. The old coaching crew who used to work there left and formed there own gym, not out of hatred of this gym, but because it was something they always wanted to do and coach ken seemed to take it the wrong way and started talking bad about them which caused myself and many others to leave this gym and join them, adding to his bad mouthing. Tell me ken, if you wish the best for everyone, and this is what they want to do? Why bad mouth them? Also the classes here are very small now, with some classes not even having attendance which he’ll then just close the gym and leave for the day. If you pay 40 dollars for a private, don’t expect the entire hour to be about boxing, considering he’ll spend half of it preaching to you about life, which I’m not saying is a bad thing, but I want to learn about boxing, not his opinion on the meaning of life. The boxing classes are definitely a great workout, but you can go to title boxing gyms or other gyms entirely and get a better workout for a lot less, as this gym charges around 70-80 dollars a month for a membership, that’s expensive compared to other gyms that are 20-50 dollars a month. Overall, there are plenty of better gyms out there that don’t waste your time and actually focus only on boxing. If you want to learn about life, this may be the gym for you, but his life advice and motivation are cheesy and you’re better off going to a motivational Instagram page for that kind of inspiration. Overall he seems like a nice guy at first, but don’t be fooled he doesn’t want to do a lot of work to make good boxers and blames only the boxer and never himself when things go wrong, and that’s why the gym lost so many members and still is. If you have any problems with him, he tells you to let him know and talk it out like men, but when I did that he just yelled and said if I don’t like this gym then I’m more than welcome to go to a different one. Well guess what ken? I did and I’m taking my money too.

What an amazing gym to be a part of. Family friendly atmosphere with unbelievable supportive people. Everyone is family here and everyone helps motivate each other. This gym is for everyone, every age and every fitness level. After your first class you will feel like you belong there. Great high intense work outs that are changing everyday. This gym works your body as well as your mind! Definitely recommend stopping in!

This gym has not only made me physically stronger, but has made me mentally sharper as well. The mindset and skills that I have learned from this gym transfer over into my everyday life. I feel more comfortable in my own body as well as noticing the quality of my life has increased 2 if not 3 times. I can not say enough good things about coach Ken Curtis either, he is a great man not only for getting you in shape but also great to talk with about life. If you are looking for a home away from home, a new family, and a place to further yourself this is the gym for you!
