Johnny Appleseed Memorial

Off SR 821 south of Dexter City north of Macksburg! Historically this was main road before interstate 77. Well taken care of & I hope you take pictures of John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed monument!! Very simple monument to an American Legend. As noted in David McCulloughs book “The Pioneers,” the Chapman family lived fifteen miles up Duck Creek from the Ohio River. The monument is close to Chapman’s log cabin.

This is really a neat marker to remind us of the efforts of Johnny Appleseed. Would love to see more attention given to the landscaping astetics to draw the attention of passerby traffic.
