I went to this school for 6th grade and it was terrible. In this school, at least in the 14-15 school year, often showed a lack of care towards their teaching and students. Despite advertising themselves as an arts school, there were only two periods of arts classes a day, and Visual Art, was taught by a teacher who did not seem to care about her work or her students, as she often snapped, seemed confused or distracted, and the projects assigned were better suited for third graders in an underfunded school. Also the arts program seemed underfunded as the tech lab had computers from about 2007, while the Spanish room had over twenty, brand new, Apple Macs from at least that year. The uniform is very annoying as it distracts students with heat and cold as sweaters can only be black or white, and so limited you to options that were not very warm. The Orchestra class was very substandard with easy songs that did not teach students and hardly made a difference in the students lives, also the school instrument rental was an absurd thirty dollars a month. The only redeeming features of A.I.M.S were the school lunch where they served real food and a good and qualified Drama teacher. Also the Drama and Choir classes were forced to take choir for two quarters whether or not they signed up for it.
