When friends arrived we decided to order out. I suggested Basil 1791 because I knew our friends enjoyed Thai and it was one of their favorite cuisines. I had been to Basil before and felt confident to recommending it. I was so embarrassed by not only the taste of the food but the appearance of our selected dishes. My Green Curry with chicken had big and small pieces of chicken. Not only were they dry, the larger chicken slices were so big I had to cut them, the smaller chicken pieces were shredded like. The Green Curry was described on the menu as having green beans. I've had Thai dishes with green beans, they were fresh and somewhat crisp as one would expect. The green beans in this concoction were like canned green beans. The egg rolls were tasty and the rice of course. Needless to say most of the food was discarded. Basil 1791 was a long anticipated restaurant coming to Hamilton, it's so sad to see the quality of their menu and the restaurant itself go down the tubes.

Always a wonderful evening full of wonderful food, drinks, and service. I have never been dissatisfied in any way. Tonight was no exception.

I love this venue very much. there is a very nice air. The food is very tasty. the service is efficient and the stuff is polite. The cost is satisfactory. I warmly recommend.
