We did have a short guided tour by a founder of the memorial. It was terrificud83cudf89

This is located in a quiet corner area where Route 96 meets the Seneca Canal. Simple and impressive, the good citizens of Waterloo keep it maintained to the pride of the community. A place for reflection on the 57 soldiers from Seneca County who gave their lives in the Civil War for freedom, including one Brigadier General. Worth a visit.

I have a great love for this place. Being from Seneca County Waterloo being the birth place of Memorial Day it seemed right to have a memorial spot for the Civil War dead of the village. My late husband was asked to help research the records to find the names. I can only hope we do the best we can to honor them.
