It was nice to go in and have a wonderful person ask if she could help. And she was wonderful help. That's what alot of places are like today. Go to a department and wait and no one comes. Thank you for a good day of shopping.

Went to return a few items tonight and was told to go to the returns in the back of the store and when I got there no one was there, went back up to the front of the store where there were 7 associates standing around doing nothing and was told to go back to the returns and wait for someone. You would think one of the seven associates standing there would be able to assist. This is a very poorly ran JC Penney’s. No wonder they are always in such financial trouble.

Every time I have been to this store, the clerks have been exceedingly slow. There is zero sense of urgency or purpose. There is no care for customer time. The clerks move through even the simplest tasks-- scanning, punching a button, opening a plastic bag--at the slowest rate. They often seem to wander within their stations without doing anything. They feel the need to discuss with every customer the price and character of the items being bought. They even speak slowly. Honestly, it feels like a purposeful worker slow down. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. While I appreciate the attempt at polite conversation, it is not good customer service if customer time is being wasted. Move faster. Have some concern for the purpose of the actual job and the customer's time. Kohls certainly manages to do it. I spent 15 minutes in line today with 4 people in front of me, one person vehind, and 3 lanes open. It was so slow they had to open a register at appliances. And it too them 10 minutes to figure that out. If this store is your only option for Penneys, it's better to order online. Oddly, the service at returns is polite and quick.
