Susan Odell Taylor School

Taylor School is an amazing school with strong academics implemented with a 'Think Outside the Box' approach. Creativity and diversity are embraced, along with respect and compassion. Teachers and staff are dedicated and immerse themselves in the learning process. I have taught in many schools and Taylor is, by far, the best!

I haven't got enough kind and good words for the Susan Odell Taylor School. They're generous and wonderful, and truly a welcoming community. This is a fantastic place to bring your child to learn, and the people who make it happen really care about the kids who attend. The smaller class sizes, the combined 1-2/3-4/5-6 grades, and the quality curriculum have made me not only a believer but an advocate. You can't go wrong with this school.nnEDIT, 11/2014: My son continues to attend this school, having progressed from 1st grade to 3rd, and I couldn't be happier with our decision to keep him here. The instructors are wonderfully communicative, the administration is friendly and open, and the community of the school is just that-- a community. We intend for him to go to the Taylor School for as long as possible. If you're considering the Susan Odell Taylor School, do yourself a favor and visit; you won't be disappointed.nnEDIT, 5/2018: My son has now attended from 1st grade to 6th grade, and our experience has been outstanding throughout. The instructors have remained communicative and engaging, the administration has been considerate and accommodating, even as we enter into the occasionally trying period of tween years and all of its expected craziness. They are very much a family, and one where we're happy to be a part. My son's academics are strong, and I really feel he's been given a good foundation for the next step in his academic career. If you're looking for a private school in the Capital District, you won't go wrong with the Taylor School.

My daughter attended the Taylor school for many years and my family loved it. Amazing staff, a wonderful place to grow a young mind. Unfortunately, for us, the school board decided to discriminate my family. It's very sad to see such a progressive thinking school make such backward thinking decisions. To see many children (or any child) not be able to have an education because of religious discrimination is a disgraceful action by the Taylor School Board.
