Trophy Point at the United States Military Academy at West Point is one of the perfect places in the world. Great entertainment by the West point bands. An absolutely astonishing view. And a feeling of gratitude for being an American. Among people who have volunteered to put themselves on the line to secure our way of life that is unique in the world. My hat is always off to them. And this venue is a fitting and historic tribute to them.

Very surreal to have been standing in the same places some of our most historic figures have been.

Painted by Robert Walter Weir (1803-1889). This image portrays the beauty of the Hudson, as well as why West Point is where it is. The River narrows here where the spine of Appalachian Mountains passes through the valley, and the heights provide a single location where cannon can control the passage of all watercraft below.
