Sounds of running water; well marked trail; nice trail app

A quiet little slice of forests.

Nice little preserve. Trails could use a little better marking around the end of the loop. Varied eco settings with woods and wetlands. Trails can be primitive and overgrown in spots. Watch for poison ivy. Seems the area was used for hunting camp and children's cult forts. There are some old stone walls on site. Would be nice to have a little history of the property and a better marked parking area.

Hiking the trails here was a fun time for all. Gentle grades bordered by beautiful ancient stone walls, I'm guessing probably built sometime during the Neolithic period. That's when we built things to last. Also, with all the room out here this place is highly recommended for all your activities; so much room.nHowever, on the down side, the name here implies that both fields and woodchucks are also actively being preserved, along with the forests. It's sad to report that the forests have taken over most of the fields and also managed to get past the walls too! Yeah, I was surprised as you are right now. And, may I say, we saw not a single woodchuck the entire time, not one. Needless to say my parrot was really disappointed in that because he loves woodchucks. It's not that we didn't look, we did, all the way to Snook's pond and back, twice.nnPro tip here - considering it's in the forest and near a pond there's a lot of bugs for some reason. Because it's common knowledge that only female insects bite I recommend Axe Phoenix body spray, which repels anything female.
