Bargain Grocer began as Compassion Coalition (and still might use that name). They get overstocks, expired-but still good-foods and some new items. By shopping there you are supporting their mission to bring good food to inner city people. Actually people from all over the area shop there, and you'll see any car from a Cadillac to a junker. Just watch the dates on produce and look it over carefully. They do have good prices on a lot of items but not a big brand selection.
The staff is the BEST! Great prices for healthy food. We would be spending 3x as much anywhere else. We have a family of 8 so I am extremely grateful we have this store in our area!
Best deals in town and some of the nicest staff in the world. You can get pre-made floral arrangements for $1! Their house-made foods are fantastic. Their vodka sauce is probably my favorite of all time. I adore this place, and it's run by the Compassion Coalition. Just make sure to stop here first, because the stock fluctuates. Then get everything else at prices that will make you weep from your newfound expectations of value and reason.
