I freaking LOVE Melaine, Not only is she an amazing violinist with amazing skills and helps a ton with music theory, she is also a lovable human being. She keeps pushing me and always recognizes when i have hard times with certain passages and then cheers me up with showing me what i need to fix. Melaine has shown me many techniques and ways to help me fix my posture, memorization, and overall bow control and shifting exercises. Melaine is by far one of my favorite violin teachers that i’ve had in previous years, because not only is she teaching you how to improve on the violin, but she also wants to be your friend. I highly recommend, if you don’t, your loss.
Melaine is great with my 4-year-old. We are learning first things first - posture, bowing, playing position - while still keeping her excited and motivated and feeling like there are new things every week. It pretty well matches what I expected after reading about Suzuki "Nurtured By Love" and Every Child Can.
Melaine is a wonderful instructor! I came to her with no prior music experience. She was so patient teaching me the basics, from holding the bow correctly to posture. I enjoyed going to each lesson knowing I’d be greeted with her great smile and positive energy. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn how to play the violin. You will love it!
I am so glad we found Melaine. She teaches in a fun way that engages my little 7 year old, who after a few months is on her way to learning how to play her first song. Melaine is very good at making sure she is learning the correct technique too. I highly recommend her.
I have been amazed at how well my 11 year old is doing since she has started taking lessons from Melaine. I have been super impressed with the details that Melaine puts into teaching correct technique. It has made a world of difference for my daughter's improvement. She is so good with her during lessons too. I love that she has me stay in during the lesson, so I know what to help my daughter with during the week. Melaine is positive and fun and makes my child feel like she is really doing a great job. She always uses positive reinforcement which keeps my daughter motivated to keep working hard. I have been 100% happy with Melaine as a teacher, and I reccomend her to everyone. We have had poor teachers in the past, and Melaine is the best we have seen. She really knows her stuff!!! Both how to play.....and more importantly, how to teach it!
