Mahlon Dickerson Campgrounds

This is a great little campground with less than 20 RV sites. The campgrounds are well maintained and the facilities are cleaned. Several trailheads start here or the trails intersect the campground making for great hiking right from your site. The RV hookups have 50/30 amp and water (although the water is only on in season). One odd thing about the water is that there is only one stand for each two RV pads, which means that you may have to string a verla long hose across your campsite.nnThere are only a few sites that are even close to level, so be prepared with the right wheel leveling gear. The pitch of some of the sites was alarming, which is the only reason for the 4-stars and not 5. It’s a quiet campground and Morris County does a great job.

Except for a few loud campers, mostly a pleasant time with one glaring exception. We got there Sunday and were scheduled for 2 nights but the portapotties were all completely full... Could not even sit down. They weren't emptied until Monday and was told they are only emptied once a week.That just turned us off and we did not stay the second night. My suggestion is to only go early in the week and leave before the weekend.

A hidden gem in North New Jersey for RV campers. This beautifully wooded spot only has about 15 campsites for RVs but they are spaced out enough that you will barely notice your neighbors. Water and electric only at the campsites with a dump station around the bend. Bathrooms and (currently closed) showers too. Reserve through MorrisParks.net.
