Ocean Grove Tent City

A unique place to see on the Jersey shore.

If you are in for a unique experience you can rent one of these. You do have to request reservations early I believe. If you just walk through that is a really interesting experience. I found that most of the people there were very friendly and willing to talk with you. It's very close to the chapel and close to the beach. Rooms are very small but it's an interesting experience.

Great if you like to buy tat at inflated prices, but hey, shopkeepers need to eat too.

I was really impressed with the way that tent city has been kept up in Ocean Grove and the history of what the Methodist church set up with the Great Auditorium. The more interesting part of this history were the CMA gate rules that were in affect until around 1979. My family story reflects on a time back in the 1930s when my father drove into town during the day as a young adult unaware of the Sunday rules as the gates were closed when he tried to leave. The spirituality of that experience I understand changed my father life.

HOMEAGAIN!! AFTER MANY SUMMERS IN OCEAN GROVE FOLOWING 9/11 I AM EXTREMLY HAPPY TO BE BACK!! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SUN AND SAND AND HOMETOWN FEEL!!!
