Very cool bell. I wish the groundskeepers cared, or that the city of Newport would hire a crew that does. The landscaping is pretty embarrassing in my opinion... It's more of the quality of the landscape maintenance than the landscape itself.

What the bell stands for is the ultimate goal of the world, besides that,, the weight of it is astounding 33,000 tons, 45 day ship ride from France, then up the Mississippi River then the Ohio River to Cincinnati,

How can you not love a hugh bell that stands for PEACE? Take the elevator and enjoy the experience. Cool for a quick stop.
