Room for 4-5 cars. Nice access to the trail right where you park.

The Chippewa Trail up Black Mountain is a lovely trail with lots to offer. It has verdant streams a d bogs near the start, and a short side trip to some lime kilns.nThe middle part of the mountain is coniferous forest with moderate inclines, and a trillium-laced path. Not many switchbacks, so ascent is quicker, but more strenuous than comparably tall mountains around 3000'.nThe top third remains moderately steep and has several vistas overlooking the valley on rocky ledges, and the top offers wonderful views South, East, and West on an elongated rock outcropping.nMt. Moosilauke's west side predominates the Southeastern sky, and to the East one can see the Franconia Ridge with Mt. Flume, Liberty, Lincoln, and Lafayette behind the Kinsman Ridge. Westerly views reveal Vermont Mountains, and the Adirondacks in the distance.nThis is a great mountain to practice on before climbing 4000+ footers, and the views are well worth seeing on a clear sunny day.

Excellent trail with a wonderful view. This is a rather steep trail as you reach the end, but it's quite worth it! It took me about 1.5 hours to reach the top. The parking area is small, however; I'd wager only 4 or 5 cars max can fit at a time, but I suppose you could also have overflow parking on the side of the road.

This is a nice relatively easy trail to the summit of Black Mountain. I recommend it if you're looking for an extremely scenic hike.

Very steep trail. Well marked most of the way but do be careful around the top as there are several Vista points which connect with small unmarked paths between. It's a hard climb but with multiple Vista points along the way and the views from the summit are stunning. Well worth the effort!
