Whittier Covered Bridge

Note: as of October 2020 this bridge is not over a body of water and is just sitting in a field.nnThe Whittier Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This was our reason for visiting as we drove up to the White Mountains to enjoy the fall foliage. The location of the bridge isn’t really impressive and we felt a little awkward parking and taking pictures of the bridge as there are houses next to the bridge. But we stayed for 15-20 minutes to map out the rest of our drive and others stopped to snap pictures of the Whittier Bridge, so don’t worry if you feel weird for checking the bridge out. Enjoy!

I was a bit disappointed that this bridge is just rotting in a field. I hope the rehab begins soon so it once again can span the Bearcamp River.
