My family and I visited Jean's ranch last summer to go horse back riding. It was a fantastic experience and very personalized attention. It was just our family. Jean trained us for about an hour and then we went out onto the plains with her. Such an incredible and unique experience on the Nebraska Grasslands!

We stayed at the ranch in the summer of 2018. No one greeted us when we arrived. After calling Jean, we were told to let ourselves in. We had to ask her to come to the guest house late that evening to meet us and tell us about the ranch activities. Unfortunately, no activities were offered because she was too busy with ranch chores.nnWe expressed an interest in horseback riding. She said we would have to “become one with the horse” by grooming them and communicating with them. At that point she would decide if we established a bond of trust with her horses and would be allowed to ride. All of this would cost $75 per person without the guarantee of a ride which would be an additional fee.nnWe didn’t see one other staff member throughout our stay with the exception of her husband. He didn’t speak to us, wave to us, or acknowledge us in any manner.nnWe asked for a tour of the ranch but Jean never got back to us about showing us around. We didn’t see anything other than the guest house.nnThe full breakfast for four adults turned to be extremely inadequate as it consisted of 6 eggs, 3 strawberries, and toast. No juice or coffee was offered. It was not at all as advertised and was extremely disappointing.nnThe house was okay except for the strong sulfur smell in the water. (The smell of rotten eggs).nnThe only positive in this experience was the close proximity to Toadstool National Park, which we enjoyed immensely.nnOverall, the experience was nothing like the website advertised. We’re writing this review so no one else spends their vacation on such a disappointing ranch experience.

Our Heritage Guest Ranch is the perfect place to spend in the saddle if you're looking for a real cowboy experience. Horses are my passion and nothing pleases me more than to share that passion with a like-minded equestrian.nnJean Norman not only rides horses, she knows horses and is quick to share that knowledge in a personal and rewarding way. She has a strong love for the land as well as for the horses that live there. She'll go out of her way to share that love, whether it be on foot, by vehicle, or on horseback.nnI had planned my experience to revolve around a simple ride across the prairie, but what I received was a far greater, and much deeper experience than I could have ever imagined!

My Mother says this place is perfect. Mother's Day, trust me.
