The Lodge Restaurant

Average food. Nothing bad. Nothing great.. Sixties vintage decor - but not in a cool way. The exterior tells you a lot about the interior. Strangely long wait for what it was.

We love eating here! Have enjoyed our once a month visit for years. Staff have always been kind and professional. Food is home cooked just like advertised. One of the few gems left in Kearney.

I took my niece out for breakfast 2 weekends ago. I had never been there. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a very chill, homey, down to earth vibe. The staff was really nice. It was also very affordable. I did not take any pictures while there but I will definitely be giving it another go. I think we found our new favorite breakfast spot!

We chose The Lodge to support a local business while staying in Kearney. Upon seeing Chicken Fried Steak on the menu, I knew immediately what I was ordering. Unfortunately, a large party ahead of us ordered the last CFS and the waitress had to tell me they were out.nI was so disappointed and had trouble finding something else on their varied menu which included steaks and Prime Rib only because I had my heart set on Chicken Fried Steak.nA few minutes later, our waitress gave us some good news, that there was one left!nThat was such great news that we ordered and included an appetizer of Fried Mac and Cheese Bites.nThose arrived and were just horrible. We only ate enough to try them and left the rest.nThe Chicken Fried Steak was delicious, flavorful and tender.nMy husband's Prime Rib was tender, and tasty, and the kid's cheeseburger was well received.nTravelers should give The Lodge a chance. It's where the locals go for breakfast and lunch too. Prices were moderate and mostly appropriate.nFour stars because the Mac and Cheese Bites were gross, and really expensive for what they were, and we would have wanted them removed from the bill. Otherwise a great meal!
