The guy who showed up at my house was not a locksmith. He came in his own car (not company vehicle with tools and equipment). I had requested to have a door lock rekeyed, but he arrived with cheap replacement lock that he bought on the way. Then he tried to charge me an astronomical price. I got him to come down $100, but it turns out he hadn’t even installed it properly and the door wouldn’t stay shut! I called him repeatedly to return, but he just told me he was really busy, but he’d take care of me. He never came back to do the job right. Today I called a reputable locksmith and got the job done exactly how I wanted for half the price. I thought I would save a few bucks by calling these guys and give business to a “little guy”, but I learned that wasn’t the case. Hopefully others won’t have to make the same mistake.
